Structural defects which have been noted during a building condition or structural survey can be monitored to ascertain if movement is ongoing.
Our Structural Engineers will use their experience and judgement to establish if monitoring is required. If it is considered necessary, suitable monitoring points will be located and gauges installed to allow accurate measurements to be taken.
Readings will be taken from the monitoring points on a regular basis to find out if movement is ongoing. Typically this ranges from 6 to 12 months.
Upon completion of the monitoring, a report will be produced detailing the findings. This report will also recommend any future works to stabilise the property along with repairs required to restore structural stability.
If required, we can be instructed to further design and project manage structural repairs to the property including underpinning works using reputable specialist contractors.
